New morden smelter to increase smelting capacity.

KCM has embarked on the following expansion projects in order to achieve our vision:

• Konkola underground mine expansion by undertaking the konkola deep mining project (KDMP) that will take ore production to 6 million tonnes per annum from the current 2 million tonnes per annum.
• A new smelter is being built at Nchanga that will produce 300,000 tonnes of copper per annum.
• A new acid plant has been built at Nchanga with the capacity of 500 tonnes of acid per day
