| KCM TURNS 30-YEAR-OLD DREAM INTO REALITY |
Konkola Copper Mines plc has launched completion of Phase-1 of its multi-million dollar-Konkola Deep Mining Project (KDMP) in Chililabombwe.
The development marks the realisation of a 30-year-old dream by Zambia to access a rich ore-body lying at the deeper reaches of Konkola Mine.
The launch involved the official commissioning of Mid-shaft loading at No4 Shaft of the KDMP on April 20, 2010, marking a major step in KCM’s stated quest to increase its copper production to 500 000 tonnes/annum.
